The future of Brecon Jazz Festival, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, has been secured through a one-off grant of £381,000 from the Welsh Assembly.
£111,000 will be paid to the existing Brecon Jazz company to pay off long-term outstanding debts which have threatened the existence of the festival. A further sum of up to £270,000 has been earmarked over the next three years for a new company to be set up under the aegis of Theatr Brycheiniog, which will employ full-time professional management to support and develop the Festival.
