A new poll commissioned for Arts and Business (A&B) has found that 73% of the UK workforce would prefer to work in an environment in which art is displayed and 41% would prefer to be offered ticket concessions to arts events rather than gym membership.
89% of those surveyed attend arts events in their spare time. ICM Research conducted face-to-face interviews with a random selection of 1025 adults across the country. The results have led A&B to reveal their ten top tips to encourage creativity in the workplace, including providing arts events at lunchtimes or setting up a book club.

Aiming their findings at industry bosses as well as their workers, A&B point out that companies with art on the walls are more likely to be considered very successful, and that music and art in the workplace were likely to prove motivational and inspirational.

Colin Tweedy, chief executive of Arts & Business, commented: ?Following Tessa Jowell?s recent comments when she effectively accused Britons of being Philistines compared to the Germans, I think the results of this survey show that Britain is not a cultural black hole.?
