In her review of ?Arts For All? Their Policies and Our Culture? (ArtsProfessional issue 4, p12) Mary Schwarz asks whether anyone remembers the National Arts and Media Strategy.
I do, and so do many other people who I meet around the country. At least we asked everybody what they thought. That was the big mistake. You cannot have policy based on what the arts sector and the public think! However, it is interesting to see some of the ideas popping up again in Government policy like reinvented wheels. Those were the days. Must read this new book.
