Union Dance will be appearing as part of the decibel performing arts showcase from May 2-5 in Manchester.
?Permanent Revolution (V2R)? is a collaboration with multimedia artists Thomas Gray and Derek Richards to create an integration of live dance performance, sound, computer graphics and video. They have produced a physical and spiritual exploration of the circular nature of migration, cultural transition and the rhythms of life. Companies represented in the showcase of spoken word, dance, music theatre and live art range from Japan to Turkey and include Yellow Earth Theatre, Emergency Exit Arts, Apples and Snakes and the Aayaa Circus Project. Decibel is mounted in association with xtrax, and the work was chosen by a selection panel made up of representatives from Arts Council England, the British Council, venues, promoters and artists. Delegates to the showcase will also be able to network with artists and take part in a series of discussions and seminars around the issues of presenting culturally diverse performance.
