Writer and Director Jeremy Raison is to become the new Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre. He will take over from the triumvirate of Giles Havergal, Philip Prowse and Robert David.

David Young, previously Marketing Officer at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra has joined the Tolbooth in Stirling as Audience Development Officer. Gordon Walsh has become Sales and Customer Service Co-ordinator.

Three new appointments have been made at the The Drum in Birmingham, to spearhead the next phase of the arts centre?s development. The new Director of Arts is Amani Naphtali; Jacqueline Contré has been appointed Director of Operations; and Jennifer Francis takes up the post of Director of Communications.

Sara St George is to join Holton Lee, a short-stay residential centre primarily for Disabled people and carers, to take responsibility for Arts Development. Prior to her appointment she worked for The Arts Institute at Bournemouth.

Urban Experience has appointed Scott G. Burnham as the new Creative Director of Urbis in Manchester. His previous work has included large-scale public projects in cities including Barcelona, Prague and London.

John Morgan, who has previously worked with a number of Scottish arts organisations, is to join Manchester?s Contact Theatre as Executive Producer following the departure of Gavin Barlow to The Albany in London.


The Met, Bury?s live arts venue, has restructured its staffing. Marketing Manager, David Agnew (pictured), is now Marketing & Administrative Director, and Hazel Roy has joined the organisation as Disability Arts Development Worker. She was a founder of NorthWest Shape (now Full Circle Arts) and has also managed the Library Theatre in Manchester.

Clare Hudson is leaving Warwickshire County Council where she is Head of Arts Service to become the Regional Partnerships Officer at Arts Council West Midlands.

Sally Goldsworthy is to take over from Peter Eatherley as Director of Discover, a new arts centre for children in Stratford, East London which has just opened to the public. She is currently Education and Studio Director at the Lyric Theatre.


Caroline Leverton (pictured) has been appointed to the new post of Arts and Festivals Manager for Gloucester City Council, responsible for the Guildhall Arts Centre, arts development and arts festivals.

Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries has appointed Naila Durrani as Cultural Diversity Development Officer. She worked previously for Hackney Libraries.

Chris Holifield has been appointed Director of the Poetry Book Society, where she will succeed Clare Brown. She is the co-founder of WritersServices.com and was previously deputy MD of Cassell & Co

Patricia Mahoney, formerly Drama Officer at the national office of Arts Council England, has joined Paines Plough as Managing Director.
