Anna Southall, who joined Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries as its Chief Executive in October last year, is stepping down due to family reasons. Chris Batt, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Resource?s Libraries & Information Society Team is standing in as her replacement.


West Midlands Life, the regional cultural consortium, has appointed Steve Trow (pictured), a former cultural consultant, as its first Executive Director to work with Brian Woods-Scawen, its recently appointed Chair.

Clwyd West AM Alun Pugh has been named as the new Minister for Culture, Sport and the Welsh Language, a role previously held by Jenny Randerson AM.

Britten Sinfonia has appointed Nikola White as Concerts Director to replace Nana Tuborgh who has left to pursue a career in translation. Nikola most recently worked at the Philharmonia. Stephen Bourne, Chief Executive of Cambridge University Press and Tim Baker, a freelance marketing consultant based in Cambridge, have joined Britten Sinfonia?s Board.

Blackfriars Arts Centre has appointed a new Director, Marie Brennan, following Jane Rice?s departure to Roadmender in Northampton.

Jon Morgan, who most recently worked for the British Council, will join Contact as Executive Producer in June to succeed Gavin Barlow who has become Chief Executive of The Albany in London.

Monica Ferguson, formerly General Manager of Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth, has taken over as Chief Executive of The Stables, Wavendon. Patrick Martin has been appointed as the General Manager of Watersmeet to replace her.

Tim Jones, formerly Head of Participative Arts Development at Watermans Arts Centre, Brentford, has joined artsdepot as Arts Programming Manager

Rafael Bonachela is to take up the position of Associate Choreographer at Rambert Dance Company. He will continue to dance for the company and also work on external projects and develop new work.

President of EMI Classics, Richard Lyttelton has been appointed as Chairman of English Touring Opera, succeeding Nick MacAndrew who took up the post in 1997.
