Birmingham Repertory Theatre, whose Chief Executive, John Stalker, leaves at the end of the year to become Chief Executive of Festival City Theatres in Edinburgh, has announced the appointment of Stuart Rogers as the company?s new Executive Director. He has most recently been working in Bari with the leading Italian theatre company Teatro Kismet.

Swindon Dance, one of the National Dance Agencies, has appointed Claire Gibbons as General Manager. She has moved back to England after 13 years working in the Arts in Scotland, most recently for five years as Dance Officer at the Scottish Arts Council.

The National Music Council has appointed Fiona Penny as its new Administrator. The previous administrator, Jennifer Goodwin , has left to become Deputy Chief Executive of the Music Publishers? Association.

The Grand Theatre Blackpool has announced that Peter Cutchie is to replace Stephanie Sirr in the post of General Manager. He is currently Head of Theatre and Arts for Darlington Borough Council?s Arts Service, incorporating Darlington Civic Theatre and Arts Centre, and was formerly Artistic Director of Queen?s Hall, Hexham and General Manager of the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

At Eastern Touring Agency, Pauline Catlin-Reid has become Diversity Programme Manager and will concentrate on developing strategic partnerships; Robert Nugent is the new Projects Manager; Patricia Lashley has joined the team as Project Administrator; and Sara Phillips has been appointed as Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator for ETA with responsibility for the Diversity Programme.

Roger McCann has been appointed the first Director of Programmes for the southern region?s continuing professional development organisation for arts managers ? All Ways Learning.

Alan Bowler has been appointed Operations Manager for the Arts Service at Tamworth Borough Council with responsibility for the newly refurbished Assembly Rooms, the Palace Media Centre and Tamworth Arts Centre. For the past 3 years he has been a business development manager in Tenerife.


Helen Dunnett (pictured), Marketing Manager at Buxton Opera House has been appointed Marketing Manager for The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She has previously worked for the Hallé Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Evelyn Wilson is the new Director of Lighthouse in Brighton. She replaces Jane Finnis, who has become Development Director of the 24- hour Museum Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell has appointed Professor Laurie Wood as the new Chairman at Manchester?s Museum of Science and Industry. A member of the board of Trustees since 1999, she was a founder of CADRE, the Centre for Audience Research, and formerly Chairman of Arts About Manchester.

Tamasha Theatre Company, the Asian touring theatre company, has appointed Claire Gossop, former Company Stage Manager, as Administrator and Joe Moran, from East performance workshop, as Development Officer.
