David Emerson (pictured), Senior Executive Officer of the Theatrical Management Association since the creation of this post in 1996, is leaving to become Chief Executive of the Association of Charitable Foundations, the professional membership association for the major grant giving foundations in the UK.

Next month Jonathan Drori will take up the role of Director of the DCMS Internet initiative known as Culture Online. Formerly Head of Commissioning and Editorial Director of BBC Online, he also will remain as Managing Director of Thoughtsmith Ltd, a media, education and culture consultancy.


The new Marketing Officer at Salford-based Walk the Plank is Isobel Burgess (pictured). Also new in post is Elke Weiler as the new Administrator. She previously worked for Tanz Und Theatre in Hanover.

Elaine McGowan is the new Head of Marketing at the Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall in Stoke-on-Trent. She began her career at Cheek by Jowl as the company?s first ever PR and Marketing Officer, and later became a founder director of advertising agency McCabes.

Olivia Walley is the new Arts and Events Officer for Maldon District Council. She has replaced Sarah Cook.

Helen Black, formerly Marketing Co-ordinator for The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, is the new Marketing & Press Co-ordinator for TAG Theatre Company in Glasgow and Emily Ballard, formerly of Vanishing Point, has been appointed as the new Education Officer.

The Music Zone has appointed three new full-time members of staff: Mags Attwell and Jamie Dove as Animateurs, and Derry Everitt as Administrator.

Franck Bordese has taken up the position of General Manager at the dance development agency East London Dance. He was previously Senior Administrator at Hoxton Hall. Ken Bartlett, Director of the Foundation for Community Dance is the organisation?s new Chair of the Board.

Helen Hale, formerly with Southern Arts, has joined Buxton Festival as Head of Corporate and Media Relations.

Rachel Carter, former Education Worker at Sampad, is now Programme Co-ordinator for Birmingham Creative Partnerships.

Phoenix Arts has announced the appointment of Matthew Linley as its new Director. He is currently Arts Co-ordinator for Reading Borough Council where he runs 21 South Street Arts Centre.
Claire Bowdler has been appointed to the position of Marketing Manager for the City of London Sinfonia having previously been Marketing Manager at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen has announced that David Pepworth is to be its new Marketing Manager. He was formerly Press and Marketing Officer at St Donats Arts Centre and has also worked at Wyeside Arts Centre.

Five new members of staff are to join East Midlands Arts: Jane Brown as Collaborative and Participatory Arts Officer, Michael Hoar as Education and Lifelong Learning Officer, Kim Johnson as Assistant Officer Education, Chukuemeka Wakama as Regional Co-ordinator of ?decibel?, and Peter Knott as New Media, Experimental Arts and Touring Officer.
