News ? MAG arts sponsorship
Arts organisations in the North West have received a boost with the news that Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the UK?s second largest airport operator, is to provide arts sponsorship worth £685,000 this year.
Over the past 16 years, MAG, which allocates one per cent of its gross operating profits to arts sponsorships each year, has given £7m to a variety of organisations including the Bridgewater Hall, the Chinese Arts Centre and the Royal Exchange (pictured). Geoff Muirhead, Chief Executive of MAG said, ?The region has a great diversity of talent and we are honoured to be able to help maintain its reputation as one of the most vibrant cultural areas of the country. It is this reputation as a cultural centre that continues to make Manchester a destination for tourism in its own right.?
