A scheme offering 2-for-1 ticket deals to all Liverpool residents has been launched to encourage attendance at cultural events in Liverpool ahead of its year as the European Capital of Culture in 2008. The ?Don?t wait for 2008? campaign also aims to inform residents of the city?s free attractions and offers a chance to win free tickets to concerts in the city.
A leaflet sent out to all 208,000 homes in the city highlights events at several venues in the city including Welsh National Opera at the Empire Theatre, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and performances at the Everyman and Playhouse and The Unity Theatre. Gemma Bodinetz, Artistic Director, of the Everyman and Playhouse said, ?We want the people of Liverpool to be entertained by, feel proud of and, more importantly be part of their theatres?. And no one has to wait until 2008.?
