Jim Duckett, Information Officer at aliss (Artists and Learning Information and Support Service) selects his pick of the net.

1 http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk
This is a great website with fantastic content, which is really brought to life through high quality imagery and interactive access. My kids love this one, and completely without any pressure from parents.

2 http://www.nmpft.org.uk
The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television?s education site contains a wide range of activities, events and resources listed by age group. It also contains a link to the museum's 'Digital Schools' website, which holds information on using digital media (including a gallery to which teachers can submit pupils work!)

3 http://www.pinholeresource.com
Everything you imagined you could ever want to know about pinhole photography? and then some. A large international community of photographers offering mutual support and advice, in addition to resources and galleries of members' works.

4 http://www.realtokyo.co.jp/english
A great site for keeping your finger on the pulse of what's happening in Tokyo. I hope one day to get there and put it to some practical use, but for now I can dream! The site also links to ARTiT, a contemporary arts magazine taking in the best of what Japan's artists have to offer.

5 http://www.habbohotel.com
This site must be seen to be believed! You can sit and watch others interact, boogie at the virtual disco, catch a virtual movie or create a room in which to throw the most lavish virtual cocktail parties! I first heard of this site after a friend was forcibly removed from the hotel for stealing virtual furniture. Honestly.
