Music has been used in many and diverse ways in creative learning projects: here are a few that show the range of work.

An Opera for Tees Valley >> In partnership with Northern Stage, this year-long project culminated in a full-scale production of a new, specially commissioned opera in August 2004.

Beowulf >> Years 5 and 6 from Birkdale Primary School, in Merseyside, created their own version of the legend Beowulf with composer Bill Connor, culminating in a multi-media performance in English, Welsh and Anglo Saxon at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

E-lab in Cornwall >> A 3-day residential course in May 2003, with creative alliances covering visual arts, multimedia, dance and VJ-ing. Five creatives were partnered with five teachers to develop new multimedia projects.

Music for Ever with Punch Records >> Artists from a range of cultural backgrounds have worked with five Birmingham schools working in a range of subjects, including Geography, History, Science and English. The project drew on youth sub-culture and contemporary artforms to initiate consultation around issues such as exclusion, cultural belonging and conflict.
