RSC and Warwick join forces
A brand new learning centre and studio space dedicated to the development of performance studies are at the heart of a new collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and the University of Warwick, based at Warwick?s Coventry campus.
The partnership will draw upon University resources to shape the development of the RSC acting companies, with masterclasses for the RSC?s actors and a Playwright in Residence who will contribute to the RSC?s annual New Works Festival. The initiative will also support the University?s English Literature and Theatre Studies departments with studies of Shakespeare in performance, such as last year?s Romeo and Juliet (pictured). But it will also cover other faculties, such as Warwick Business School, where drama techniques will be used in management education.
