In a bid to cut costs, the Big Lottery Fund has announced plans to streamline the organisation?s structure. The new structure, which will increase the role played by regional offices, will also move the Fund?s headquarters out of central London.
The Big Lottery Fund was formed in June from the merger of the New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund and is responsible for distributing half of all National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. As well as retaining a presence in each English region, the Fund will establish operational centres in the North and the Midlands to manage the grant assessment and management process. Exact locations and a timetable for the changes, together with headline figures for any job cuts, have not yet been made public.
