A new representative body that will champion the needs of professionals working in theatre education will be launched on October 4. The Theatre Education Network (TEN) will provide a range of services to members, including information about sources of funding, training and networking opportunities.
A national survey exploring the professional status, pay and working conditions of theatre educators will provide baseline information about employment and self-employment in the sector; and TEN will also be campaigning to extend the provision of entry-level theatre education courses at drama schools, universities and colleges. Membership of TEN will be free until April 2005. w: http://www.theatre-ed.net
