News – Craft on show

A new website has been launched to raise the profile of Scottish craft. The website, produced by the Scottish Arts Council, is designed to provide a gateway to all crafts-based activities in Scotland as well as providing information about crafts news and events.
There are more than 3,000 crafts-based businesses in Scotland, estimated to be worth almost £150m to the country?s economy. The website?s designers hope the site, http://www.craftscotland.org, will become a forum for makers to exchange information, access opportunities and improve professional and entrepreneurial skills. ?craftscotland? is also the name being given to a new charitable company, which has been tasked with promoting Scottish craft domestically and internationally.
