The Arts Council of Wales? (ACW) 21 year-old easy payment scheme for Welsh art, has been extended and renamed the Principality Collectorplan, following a preferential loan from the Principality Building Society to ACW, that will enable the scheme to double in size to more than £1m.
The scheme will offer interest-free loans of between £50 and £2,000 towards the cost of buying original paintings, sculpture, jewellery and crafts from 79 Welsh galleries. The Welsh Assembly Government has guaranteed the loan for a period of three years to enable to scheme to be expanded. ACW Chairman, Geraint Talfan Davies, said: ?In recent years the demand for Collectorplan loans in galleries across Wales has outstripped our capacity to fund it.
