Eureka! The Museum for Children in Halifax is opening a new interactive music gallery this month. With a variety of hands-on exhibits, SoundSpace will enable children aged 3?12 years to explore the science behind sound, music and performance.

The gallery has been designed in an unprecedented collaboration between sound artist Thor McIntyre-Burnie and Dutch exhibition designers Northern Light CoDesign. Children will be guided by Orby the alien (pictured) in exploring the physics of sound by seeing and feeling vibrations and creating musical sequences. The aim is to establish a cross-disciplinary learning environment, focusing on the museum?s current priority of delivering learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering and maths for children.
