The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is running a three-month trial to enable non computer users, especially blind and partially-sighted people, to gain access to its website. Callers who ring 0845 333 0850 will gain voice access to the entire content of the site.

A new award, worth several thousand pounds, will enable one of the best shows at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe to play before an audience of producers and critics in New York. The award winner will be chosen by a US panel and the production will be showcased in New York in November.
