Following a lengthy drafting period, a final strategy document has been published, establishing a framework for London?s cultural activity over the next ten years. ?London: Cultural Capital? describes how planning, transport and other strategies will be used to generate an infrastructure to boost cultural provision and the creative sectors.

The strategy recognises the need to support major cultural institutions, but also looks to promote accessible and diverse community-based cultural activity across the whole of the London area. Launching the strategy, Mayor Ken Livingstone said, ?We want to enhance London?s position as one of the greatest destinations for culture in the world.? w: http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/ strategies/culture/index.jsp
