Jane Clarke, who was Acting Director of Financial and Business Services for Arts Council England from 2000-2003, has been appointed Director of Operations at the Arts Council of Wales.

Joanna Rowlands (pictured), formerly Marketing and Communications Manager at FACT, has been appointed as Communications Manager at National Museums Liverpool.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield has appointed Paul Maurel to take over from Rose Cuthbertson as Artistic Director. Currently Theatre Director of the Questors Theatre in Ealing, he was previously Theatre Director at the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.

Gregory Nash, a freelance consultant who was previously Director of the Australian Dance Council and a project manager for the British Council, has been appointed to the newly created role of Producer with Northern Stage.

Damien Whitmore (pictured), Director of Public Affairs at the V&A, has been appointed to the board at The Public, a West Midlands-based community arts organisation.

Komedia in Brighton has appointed Laurence Hill as its music programmer.
Alice Lemon has replaced Julian Lancaster as Manager of Classical and Media Composer Relations for the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. She was previously Head of Membership Services for Making Music, the National Federation of Music Societies.

Esther Blaine has moved from Huntingdon Arts in Worcester to take up the new post of Marketing Manager at UK Arts International.

Theatre Centre has appointed Charles Bishop, previously a freelance arts consultant, as General Manager. He takes over from Geoffrey Rowe who has been acting as Consultant General Manager.

Reemer J Bailey is Voluntary Arts England?s new Co-ordinator, working initially in the North East.

Gordon Watson has been appointed as Project Director of Wakefield?s Waterfront Gallery. Antonio Vella is seconded from his post of Keeper of Art at Wakefield Art Gallery to be Gallery Development Officer, and Maggie Warren, formerly Visual Arts officer at Peterborough Council, is acting Keeper of Art.

Jane Webster, formerly Director of Dorset Dance, has been appointed Director of Dance South West, a new consortium of five county dance agencies.

The board of the National Theatre of Scotland will comprise Anne Bonnar, Allan Burns, Peter Cabrelli, Claire Chapman, Professor Maggie Kinloch, Iain More and Dr Donald Smith, who join Chairman, Richard Findlay.

James Boyle has been re-appointed as Chairman of the board of the Scottish Arts Council. Arthur Cormack, an artist and arts administrator and previous member of the Scottish Arts Council Music Committee, has been elected to the board.

Nine new appointments have been made to the governing body of the Arts Council of Wales. Simon Dancey, Rhiannon Wyn Hughes, John Metcalf, Christopher O?Neill, Francesca Rhydderch, Huw Roberts, Dai Smith, Ruth Till and David Vokes will join Chairman Geraint Talfan Davies and existing members Dai Davies, Harry James, Meg Ellis, Janet Roberts and Dewi Walters.
