The self styled “smallest arts venue in the world”, The Shed in North Yorkshire, has established a sponsorship deal through Arts & Business Yorkshire with Sirdar Spinning Ltd. In addition to providing financial support, Sirdar has created a pattern for a knitted Elvis wig (pictured) to promote poet Ian McMillan’s North Yorkshire Elvis-themed bus trip.

Sirdar’s David Rawson said, “Using an arts medium has enabled us to reach a broad market much more effectively than by traditional means”. The pattern is printed in All Shook Up! – McMillan’s new collection of stories and poems that have been commissioned by The Shed over the past ten years. It is also available at w: http://www.theshed.co.uk/elviswig.html.
