News – Commemorating Camelot
10,000 blue plaques sponsored by Lottery operator Camelot are to be displayed at Lottery-funded venues across Britain by the tenth anniversary of the Lottery in November 2004. Each plaque will bear the crossed fingers logo and the words ‘Awarded National Lottery Funding’.
Over the years National Lottery players have raised £14 billion for good causes, including the arts, and their cash has supported over 150,000 projects across the UK. England’s Culture Minister Tessa Jowell said: “We must explain how the Lottery is working if we want people to continue to support it and feel good about how their money is being spent.”
