The future of English language theatre in Wales will be discussed at the Wales Association for the Performing Arts’ conference at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff on December 5. The aim of the day is to generate views to inform and lobby the Welsh Assembly and the Arts Council of Wales. e: [email protected]

Nominations are being sought for the National Dance Awards, including the Dance UK Industry Award for an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to dance beyond the scope of their professional activities.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts is inviting proposals for papers, workshops, poster presentations and performance pieces for its forthcoming Disability Arts conference entitled ‘Moving Centre Stage’. Submissions should relate to international perspectives on disability arts, disability arts in Higher Education, legislation, policy and funding, ‘inclusive practice’, or effecting change within the employment sector. A pilot website to put Scottish craftspeople in touch with a worldwide audience has been launched. The site will initially provide an online directory of craft-makers in the Highlands and Islands before extending to cover the whole of Scotland in 2004. w: http://www.craftscotland.org

The Annual General Meeting of the New Work Network, a membership organisation that offers opportunities for debate, professional development and information exchange for arts practitioners, will take place on December 6.
