Harrogate Museums and Arts has scooped the prize for the best overall marketing or audience development campaign in Audiences Yorkshire’s first Arts and Cultural Marketing Awards.
Its year-long exhibition entitled ‘New Elizabethans: a festival of the 1950s’ opened in February 2003, and the award specifically recognises the cross-generational audience development work associated with it, ranging from schools projects to reminiscence work. Other awards went to Sheffield Theatres for the redesign of their season brochure; Pilot Theatre Company for the most innovative use of technology; and Off the Shelf Literature Festival for the best inclusion or diversity project.
