Rupert Murdoch?s BSkyB is acquiring a 50% shareholding in Artsworld, the digital TV arts channel, and will bring in its own staff to run the operation.
Artsworld was set up to replace what was at the time seen as an ever-dwindling arts coverage on TV, but last year?s launch of BBC4 created significant competition for the channel, which has struggled to keep afloat ever since.
