Escapade, a spectacular celebration of popular South Asian culture viewing London through Indian eyes, will be taking place over two days on London?s South Bank on August 1 and 2.

The free event is being produced by Akademi, a London-based arts development organisation which works to promote the practice and understanding of South Asian dance within the context of contemporary UK. 150 dancers, including professional South Asian and contemporary dancers as well as community and education performance groups, will perform on multiple stages, and the South Bank?s modernist architecture will become a huge film screen, accompanied by Bollywood soundtracks. The project is funded by Arts Council England, the European Social Fund, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and the South Bank Centre with additional sponsorship from Sony Asia TV.
