In recognition of its groundbreaking work in the field of theatre for children, theatre-rites is to be supported over the next three years by The Baring Foundation.
The funding will enable the company to explore future collaborations with theatres, festivals, galleries and museums for both its touring productions and site-specific pieces, and will allow further international links to be developed. Theatre-rites? latest work is Shopworks (pictured), a site-specific theatrical experience for children and adults, which transfers from London to Vienna this month. Co-commissioned by LIFT and The Vienna Festival, it is set in a disused corner shop in both cities.
