Research and development agency Métier has secured £400,000 from the European Social Fund towards a major research programme into diversity in the arts and media, forming part of their ?Creative Renewal? project.
Métier has published its research plan, to avoid duplicating existing research into equality and employability. Chief Executive Duncan Sones said ?We have additional funds to work with mainstream agencies in the UK to get them to change how [these sectors] are behaving?.

13 organisations are contributing to the research. Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands are transnational partners. 40 partner organisations are tackling the inequalities experienced by disabled people, and those from minority ethnic backgrounds. ?Creative Renewal? runs until March 2005.
