The Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) has allocated more than £7.1m to 129 arts organisations throughout Northern Ireland, an increase of 24.5% over last year.
Additional revenue from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure has meant that an extra £1.5m is to go into ACNI?s Annual Support for Organisations Programme, which funds organisations delivering year-round arts programming. Funding for voluntary arts and disability arts rises by 113% to £279,000, and funding for youth arts rises to £457,000, an increase of 63%. Grants to organisations in Derry City are to rise by 40% to top £500,000 for the first time.
