The London Development Agency has established a Creative Industries Commission to consider ways of increasing the competitiveness of London?s creative sector.
It will comprise fifteen key industry players who will investigate the current health of and future opportunities for 13 creative industry sectors, including the performing and visual arts. The panel includes Henrietta Duckworth, Administrator at The Queen?s Theatre, Hornchurch and formerly Marketing Manager for Theatre de Complicite, and Dimitri Launder, an artist and convenor of the Area 10 Artists? Collective, an unfunded artist-led initiative in Peckham. Taking evidence from leading practitioners in each sector, they will examine successful practice in the UK and overseas. A website has been launched to provide news and information about the Commission and its members, and to publish their findings as the inquiry proceeds.
