One of the arts? most enduring commercial sponsorship relationships is due to end in July next year when BT releases its title sponsorship of the BT Scottish Ensemble (pictured) after a 10-year relationship.
The Ensemble will then return to its former name of Scottish Ensemble. The sponsorship began in 1993 as a 3-year deal worth £75,000 a year, and this was subsequently extended at every review point. BT will be continuing with sponsorship activity in Scotland through its relationships with Hampden Park and Scottish club rugby, though it is supporting the Ensemble in its efforts to find alternative funding.
