London Assembly member and former Islington councillor Jennette Arnold has been appointed to chair the Greater London Authority?s Cultural Strategy Group for London, replacing Yasmin Anwar.

Simon Glinn will be leaving his current post of Director at Roadmender in Northampton to become Director of Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.


The Belgrade Theatre Coventry has announced the appointment of Hamish Glen (pictured), to succeed Bob Eaton as its Artistic Director after 10 years as Director for the Dundee Rep.

English Touring Opera has appointed Gabrielle Wilson as Marketing and Press Manager. Previously Public Relations Manager of the Sydney Royal Easter Show as well as The Sydney Royal Wine and Fine Food Show, she replaces John Haywood who has been appointed Marketing Manager of the National Portrait Gallery.

Artsdepot has announced the appointment of Penny Mayes as Development Manager. She was formerly General Manager at Trestle Theatre Company.

Marilyn Hodges is to succeed Yinnon Ezra as Kent County Council?s Assistant Director Community & Cultural Services. Clare Hamilton has been seconded from her post as Arts Officer (West Kent) to the post of Project Manager for the Sevenoaks Library, Gallery and Museum Redevelopment, and Louise Pettifer will cover her role.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) has created four new posts: Iain Davidson, formerly Crafts Development Co-ordinator and Arts Development Officer with ACNI, has taken responsibility for Visual Arts & Crafts; Paul Harron, previously a Lecturer with the Open University, will take over Architecture & Public Art; Julianne McCormick, currently Creative Development Officer (East of Bann) with the Workers? Educational Association will be responsible for Community Arts (Social Inclusion); and Robbie Meredith will leave his post with the Linen Hall Library to take responsibility for Literature & Language Arts.

Rachel Thorne has joined DanceEast as Marketing and Press Officer taking over the role from acting Marketing and Press Officer Criona Palmer. She has worked at the Magenta Partnership for the past two and a half years.

Naomi Black is the new Manager of The Place Artist Development. She has worked for the Australia Council?s Dance Board and was previously National Project Officer for the Australian Dance Council (Ausdance) National Secretariat.

Susanna Thompson is the new Head of Legal & General Services at the Incorporated Society of Musicians, succeeding John Robinson who has been appointed Head of Collective Administration at the Design & Artists Copyright Society.

Craig Jackson, formerly Finance Manager at Worldaware, has joined Cockpit Arts as Finance & Operations Manager.

Anna Vaughan has taken over from Tamzyn French as Office Co-ordinator at the National Youth Music Theatre.
