The St James Group Ltd, a property company specialising in redeveloping major brownfield sites, has launched its ?Art on Loan? scheme in a collaboration with Westminster Council, aiming to give public access to new contemporary sculptures across London.

The house-builder, which is committed to implementing a design, art and cultural strategy, now commissions sculptures for each of its developments. Until their siting the sculptures will be on loan at various public spaces, starting with an Eilis O?Connell sculpture ?Unfold? (pictured), shortly to be unveiled in Berkeley Square. Works by George Cutts and Danny Lane have recently been installed at sites in Feltham and Kew respectively. Earlier this month another initiative by the company saw the launch of a £20,000 photography prize on the theme of ?urban visions?, which was won by Hannah Starkey, for her ?condensed experience of city life?.
