ARC in Stockton on Tees, a flagship arts centre and former recipient of Lottery capital investment which closed last year when it declared itself insolvent, is set to be brought back to life with the support of Stockton Borough Council.
A new company is being established to run the venue, and the Arts Council of England, Northern Arts and Stockton Council have been working with core of board members and advisors to explore the mix of activity and partnerships that might make the most exciting yet economically viable use of the building. The emerging vision combines theatre, dance and music activities, with opportunities for participation and learning. Comments and expressions of interest in the re-opening are being invited by the new organisation?s Chair, John Hayward.
