What does your organisation do?
BAC aims to create and promote exciting, innovative, accessible, high quality and surprising arts activity by creative collaboration between artists, staff and public.

What does your current job involve?
? Discovering the next generation of visionary artists by seeing new work then encouraging them to develop work.
? Producing the BAC Scratch Programme; a structure that encourages artists to show ideas at an early stage in front of an audience to gain feedback for the next stage of the work.
? Programming finished work in all BAC spaces that has developed through the Scratch Programme.
Who did you used to work for?
? Producer for Brighton Theatre Events; a theatre company which presents new work locally, nationally and internationally.
? Front of House Manager at Gardner Arts Centre, Brighton.
? Freelance press representative for various companies at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

What do you like most about your present job?
Talking with artists about their work in the BAC bar
over a pint of lager (or two).

What is most difficult in your present post?
Not being able to support as many exciting artists as I would like to both in terms of time and money.

What is your career ambition?
Probably being the Creative Producer, or similar, in a venue that has as exciting an artistic mission as BAC but is based somewhere else in the world.

Who has most influenced your career to date?
Jackie Alexander (Head of Sales and Marketing, Komedia) and Paul Hodson (writer/director). They instilled in me the importance of theatre being a good night out for all!

If you could have done any job in the world, what would it be?
Probably touring internationally as a tap-dancer with a free-style jazz band!

If you had three wishes for the future of the arts, what would they be?
? That funding bodies were able to take risks on artists who have no track record.
? That boring theatre no longer exists.
? That ticket prices were cheaper across the board for the performing arts.
