Sarah Weir is to be the new Regional Executive Director for the London office of the Arts Council of England. She is currently Executive Director of the Almeida Theatre.

The Director of Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Simon Daykin, has announced his resignation citing personal reasons. The new Centre Director is Annabelle Turpin, previously Deputy Director who has been at Norden Farm since June 1999.

Susie Hargreaves will be leaving her post as Director of Audiences Yorkshire at the end of December, after 6 years in the role, to pursue a career as a freelance arts consultant. Amy Richardson has also left Audiences Yorkshire, where she was Audience Development Co-ordinator, to become Marketing Manager at Phoenix Dance.

South West Arts has appointed two Creative Directors to lead its Creative Partnership initiatives. In Cornwall, the Creative Director is Lindsey Hall, previously a new media consultant based in Suffolk; and Matthew Little, currently SRB Scheme Manager at Bristol Regeneration Partnership, has been appointed in Bristol.

Sir Geoffrey Holland KCB has become the first Chairman of the South West Museums Libraries and Archives Council. He has been Vice Chancellor of the University of Exeter since 1994 and was previously Permanent Secretary at the Department for Education.

Tom Wilcox has taken up the position of Finance Manager at the Poetry Society. He was previously Business Officer at London Arts, where he will continue to work part-time for three months.

Amy de Joia, previously Project Director at National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside, has taken up the post of Director of Development. In September Sharon Granville will join NMGM as Director of Public Services, from Tyne & Wear Museums, where she is currently Acting Director.


Rachel Robson (pictured), Press and Public Relations Manager at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is leaving at the end of August to become Press Officer at the University of Birmingham.

Wolverhampton Arts and Museums Service has a new Head of Service, Kate Brindley. She has taken charge of Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Bantock House and Park and Bilston Craft Gallery.


Sara McCarthy (pictured) has joined Rambert Dance Company as Press and Media Officer, from the Palace Theatre in Watford where she was Press Officer.

The Queen?s Theatre, Hornchurch has two new members of staff. Sam Lane, previously a teacher of English and Drama has taken over the post of Education and Outreach Manager from Caroline Barth, who has moved to Theatre Royal Stratford East as its Education Manager. Dave Godin will become Technical Manager, to succeed Jonathan Smith, who is now Technical Manager at the Barbican Centre.

After serving as Secretary of the Royal Academy of Arts in London for the last 6 years, David Gordon will succeed Russell Bowman as Director of the Milwaukee Art Museum in October.

Kay Morgan is the new Course Director of The Rage Ensemble; she has previously worked as an actress and workshop leader.
