News – Art & Work Awards

Canary Wharf Group plc has won the Special Award for an Outstanding Contribution to Art in the Working Environment in the 2002 Art & Work Awards, sponsored by Gatehouse Investment Management Ltd.
The award recognises integrated architectural projects which incorporate works of art with a functional as well as decorative or thought?inspiring role. Past work includes railing by artist Bruce McLean, decorative glass by textile designer Kate Blee, sculpture by Igor Mitoraj (pictured) and floors by painter Antoni Malinowski. The awards were established in 1985 to encourage property developers, businesses, architects, local authorities and artists to collaborate in producing better working environments.
