Further details of a new scheme which will provide over £2m of Lottery money to help young people gain access to performing arts productions have been announced by the Millennium Commission.
Aiming to allow at least 50,000 young people to attend the arts, the ?Millennium Encore Scheme? will provide support for groups of young people to visit a wide variety of performing artforms.

The National Association of Clubs for Young People (NACYP) has been awarded just over £1m for a scheme that will enable young people who would not normally have the opportunity, to attend a professional performing arts production. A further grant of £116,000 has been awarded to Happy Days Children?s Charity for a similar scheme aimed at children with special needs. Although only £1m was originally earmarked for the scheme, the Millennium Commission has offered another grant of £1m to Arts & Business, some of which will be used to generate additional business investment and thereby create an initiative giving the scheme a potential twenty year life.
