A BBC initiative offering opportunities for 13-19 year olds to develop an interest in art, dance, music or film is taking place until the end of September.
The project, known as ?Blast?, aims to help make the arts accessible and interesting to those who might otherwise dismiss them out of hand. Young people are invited to register at a website or on the phone to receive information about classes, workshops, festivals, funding and how to get work shown. There is also the chance for them to talk to peers and get advice from professionals. A series of roadshows will take place through the summer and at the end of the school holidays some of the work created through the project will be showcased at regional events and on the BBC. The Blast team is inviting arts venues and organisations to contact them with details of their outreach work, and is keen to hear from anyone working in the arts who is willing to provide an insight of what it?s like to have a career in that sector. e: blast@bbc.co.uk; w: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blast
