A major international arts, culture, heritage and education centre is to be developed in Tower Hamlets.
The project will transform two disused warehouse buildings to create a culturally diverse range of facilities, including a multi-screen cinema complex, gallery spaces, recording studios and rehearsal rooms, a venue for events and live performance and a permanent home for the music training agencies CM (formerly Community Music Ltd) and ADFED (Asian Dub Foundation Education). The Rich Mix trust is overseeing the development of the complex, which is due to open in 2004. Over £12m of the £16m project costs have already been secured, including £3.7m from Mayor Ken Livingstone through the London Development Agency w: http://www.richmix.org.uk
