A £31m grant from the Corporation of London over the next six years is to enable the Barbican to undertake a full renovation of its foyers and address the way-finding difficulties which visitors often experience.
The master-plan includes new pedestrian entrances to the Centre, a new direct entrance into the foyers from the car park and a complete upgrade of all foyer facilities. The foyer work will cost £12m, with the balance of the money being used to maintain the fabric of the building.
