How are arts organisations operating in the twenty-first century? Nosheen Iqbal introduces five different ways of working

Open source policies, business incubating, mixed fundraising – not the sexiest set of words you’ll come across anytime soon but, if your organisational structure could do with some fresh thinking, they might be among the most useful. Post-summer, pre-autumn, it feels timely for AP to be exploring business models, working practice and good ideas to share with the rest of the sector. We’ve zoned in on five organisations across the UK that are doing things a little differently – and, crucially, doing them well. Talk of budgets (and the cuts that invariably come with them) has been relentless in recent months, so a look at how some companies are still operating against the odds comes as a relief.
