Following a multi-million pound redevelopment, funded in part by the Scottish Arts Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Tolbooth in Stirling has opened as a new arts venue and the new base for Stirling Council?s Heritage & Cultural Services.

The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the second biggest theatre-owning company in the UK and one of the country's foremost theatre producers, celebrates its 10th anniversary this month. ATG employs 3,000 people and last year had a turnover of £65m.

Nine innovative arts, libraries and museums partnerships are underway in the East Midlands as part of the Books Connect project, through which books and reading are used as a springboard for collaboration between public libraries, artists and museums. A city centre site, adjacent to the Market Place, has been recommended for Derby?s new Visual Arts and Media Centre. The new centre will provide a purpose-built space which will also provide a new home for Metro Cinema, Q Arts and MACE (the Media Archive for Central England) as well as studios, workshops, performance and exhibition spaces, reading room, media suite, shop and café-bar.
