Britain?s largest display space for contemporary craft is to be developed in North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, with European funding of £1.14m. The new centre, to be known as The Hub, will develop the work of The Pearoom Centre, which has a national reputation for high quality craft in a rural setting.
The Hub will provide more than 300m2 of gallery space, with a ceiling drop of 5m for the display of large textiles and installations. Purpose-built workshops will provide accommodation for residencies and for resident craftspeople.
