Andy Worthington (pictured) has been appointed as the Chief Executive of The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM). A former director of leisure and tourism at the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, he has been an adviser to the Arts Management Association and the Local Government Association, and was a member of the Government?s Policy Action Team 10.

London Arts has announced the appointment of Nigel Pittman as interim Chief Executive for the organisation with effect from January 2002. He will replace Sue Robertson who steps down in December after six years in the role.

Monica Ferguson has taken over as General Manager of the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth. She was previously the Principal Arts Officer for Bedford Borough Council and has worked for a number of venues including Derngate Theatre, Northampton and the Belgrade Theatre Coventry.

Independent electronic art curator Helen Sloan has been appointed exhibition curator for Liverpool?s new FACT Centre, a new media art complex due to open in autumn 2002.

Mary Minshull has been appointed as the new full-time Press Officer for the Henry Moore Foundation, based in Leeds; and Judy Adam, currently press and Public Relations Co-ordinator, is to become the PR Consultant for the organisation, based in London.

Joe Meaney has left the Press Office at the Arts Council of England to join NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.

Northampton Borough Council has appointed Tracey Clarke, formerly Community Arts Officer for Kettering Borough Council, as Arts Development Officer; and Gary Birtles will be joining In January as Contemporary Popular Music Development Worker.

Paul Goddard has joined South West Arts? Performing Arts Unit as the Officer responsible for theatre development. His role is a full-time secondment for 18 months from his post as Manager of Dartington Arts.

Margaret Sloan has taken up the post of Director at the arts access agency Artlink West Yorkshire. She was previously with Sound Sense, the national development agency for participatory music in the community. Despina Hafiz has also joined the organisation as Arts Co-ordinator, and will be focusing on the delivery of arts opportunities to existing and new groups.

Ulster Orchestra Chief Executive David Fisk is leaving the organisation, having been Chief Executive for almost three years. Jim Stewart has also announced his departure after seven years as Chairman and 20 years as a board member.
