Mike Terry is to join the Palace Theatre Watford as Project Manager for its Theatre Appeal. He was formerly Project Manager for the Ocean Music Trust, and for the construction of the Pavarotti Music Centre in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

After 7 years as General Manager of the North Wales Theatre, Nick Reed is leaving in January to take up the post of Director of Dublin City University 's new Arts Centre.

Belinda Kidd has been appointed as Administrative Director at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. She was formerly with Birmingham City Council, running arts events for the millennium year, and in the past has worked for West Midlands Arts and Greater London Arts. Other new appointments include Karen Fisher as Administration Manager, Richard Eustace as Production Manager and Mary Rahman as Press and PR Officer.

Peter Lamb has joined the New York- based staff of Artec Consultants as Chief Operations Officer and Principal Consultant.


The new Sales and Marketing Director for the contemporary art gallery Britart is Helga Slater (pictured). She first joined the company in July 2000 from a marketing consultancy and sales promotion agency.

Andy Wright, Business and Sponsorship Manager for Northampton Theatres, is taking up a new post of Development Officer at the University of Nottingham, which has recently opened a new arts facility, the DH Lawrence Pavilion.

The Royal National Theatre has announced that the Rt Hon Chris Smith MP, Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport from 1997 to 2001, has been appointed as a member of the Theatre's Board.

Fiona Sturgeon, formerly Marketing Manager of Edinburgh 's Traverse Theatre, has left to take up the role of Marketing Manager at the Citizens 'Theatre in Glasgow.

East Midlands Arts has appointed Simon Fitch as Local Authority Liaison Officer, with responsibility for advising Local Authorities on developing their arts and cultural strategies. He joins from Newark and Sherwood District Council, where he worked as a Strategic Arts Officer.

Karsten Witt, Chief Executive of the South Bank Centre (SBC)has left the organisation, following the adoption by the Board of his proposals for a review of the management structure of the organisation. Paul Mason, SBC's Finance Director, will take over as Acting Chief Executive while efforts are made to recruit a new Chief Executive.

Artifax Software has appointed Steve Pugh as Product Manager, heading up its new ticketing division. He has had over 4 years experience in the ticketing industry, with Synchro Systems and Ticketmaster, and will be responsible for the introduction of new box office system.

Jane Richards, formerly special events manager at Tate, has joined Kallaway as Account Manager, with responsibility for managing Barclays 'sponsorship programme.
