News – Ambassadors sold

The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the leading UK theatre chain, has announced the sale of one of its theatres. The New Ambassadors Theatre in Londons West End has been sold to Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen who already has St Martins and The Victoria Palace in his portfolio.
Rosemary Squire, Chief Executive of ATG comments, We hadnt planned to sell the venue, but the offer made good commercial sense at a time that coincides with our overseas expansion. In June the theatre will drop the New from its name and become known as the Ambassadors Theatre. Most staff will stay on in the theatre once it has changed hands although some will move with ATG.
