Hilary Strong is to be the new Director of the National Council for Drama Training. She has been Executive Director of Greenwich Theatre for eight years, and previously was Director of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Nicholas Kenyon (pictured), currently Controller, BBC Proms, Live Events and TV Classical Music at the BBC, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Barbican Centre. He succeeds Sir John Tusa who retires in August.

Sonia Friedman Productions, a subsidiary of the Ambassador Theatre Group, is set for expansion with the appointment of staff to two newly created roles: Lisa Makin, Associate Director and Head of Casting of the Royal Court Theatre, will be Creative Producer, and Pam Skinner, Production Co-ordinator at the Really Useful Group, will be Head of Production.

Liverpools FACT (The Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) has appointed Mike Stubbs, currently Head of Exhibitions at the Australian Centre for Moving Image, as the organisations new Director. He will take up the role in May 2007.

Russell Jones (pictured), Director of the Association of British Orchestras, is leaving to become the Vice President for Marketing and Membership Development for the American Symphony Orchestra League, which represents 1,000 orchestras across the USA.

John Harris has been appointed as the new General Manager of Hebrides Ensemble following Matthew Studdert-Kennedys move to the Edinburgh International Festival. John is also Director of the Internet record label Seven Things and works as a freelance composer, performer and in music education.

Joanna Read, Artistic Director of Salisbury Playhouse, is planning to step down from her position in July to pursue new challenges and spend more time with her family.
