A multimedia CD-ROM on public art, aimed at primary schools, has scooped the title of ?Interactive Media Project of the Year? at the national AV Industry Awards.
?Black Country Route Sculptures? was created for Wolverhampton City Council by Ormskirk -based Enlightenment Productions, who produced the CD-ROM as part of the Council?s urban regeneration programme, to raise awareness and appreciation of public art and local history. The project was particularly praised for the thorough research that had gone into audience needs, and the effective use of a limited budget. It beat off competition from big budget top national multimedia companies, including a production by Reebok featuring Ryan Giggs. Receiving the award, producer Adrian Tayler said ?It was good to put lie to a couple of old beliefs in our industry: first, that multimedia has to be expensive ? it doesn?t. Second, that you should never work with children or animals ... the kids at Villiers Primary School played a major part in the development, testing and launch of the CD-ROM. Working with them was great.? For more information w: http://www.trainingmultimedia.co.uk
